Black Hawk County is a county in Iowa, United States, home to the Waterloo–Cedar Falls metropolitan area in the northeastern part of the state. It had a population of 131,144 at the 2020 census, making it Iowa’s fifth-most populous county, and covers 573 square miles (1,484 km2) centred near 42°28′08″N 92°18′19″W.<\/p>\n

Waterloo is the county seat, and its postal code is 50701. The county contains eleven incorporated cities, one census-designated place, roughly two dozen unincorporated communities, and 17 civil townships. Black Hawk County sits in the Central time zone and carries FIPS code 19013.<\/p>\n
