Ford County is a county in Illinois, United States, on the flat prairie of east-central Illinois roughly 100 miles south of Chicago. It had a population of 13,534 at the 2020 census and covers 486 square miles (1,260 km2) centred near 40\u00b035\u2032N 88\u00b013\u2032W.<\/p>\n

Paxton is the county seat and its postal code is 60957. The county has 2 incorporated cities and 7 incorporated villages, grouped into 12 civil townships. It runs on Central Time, and its FIPS code is 17053. The Office of Management and Budget removed Ford County from the Champaign–Urbana Metropolitan Statistical Area in 2018, and it is not currently part of any metro area.<\/p>\n
