Stephens County is a county in Georgia, United States, in the northeastern Piedmont near the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It had a population of 26,784 at the 2020 census and covers 179 square miles (460 km2) of land, centred near 34\u00b034\u2032N 83\u00b017\u2032W.<\/p>\n

Toccoa is the county seat, and its postal code is 30577. The county has one city, two towns and several unincorporated communities; it sits in the Eastern time zone. The Tugaloo River and Lake Hartwell form the county’s eastern edge, along the South Carolina line.<\/p>\n
