Pearson is the county seat, and its postal code is 31642. The county has two incorporated cities and a scatter of unincorporated communities. It sits in the Eastern time zone.<\/p>\n

The old county list repeated “Axson” twice and included “Oberry,” a name with no independent record beyond that scrape — it has been dropped rather than guessed at. Axson straddles the Atkinson–Clinch line, with a small share of the community’s population counted on the Clinch County side.<\/p>\n
