Wexford County is a county in the U.S. state of Michigan.
It is in the northern part of the Lower Peninsula.
As of the 2020 United States Census, there were 33,673 people living there.
Cadillac is the county seat of Wexford County. It is also the largest city in the county.
Wexford County has a lot of trees because the Manistee National Forest takes up most of it.
In the north of the county, where the river is, it flows from east to west.
At 1,706 feet (520 m), Briar Hill is the highest point in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula.
It is in the northwest corner of Wexford County.
In 1887, when the Michigan Dogman was seen for the first time, it was in this county.[5]
The US Census Bureau says that the county has a total area of 575.46 sqmi (1,490 km2), of which 565.00 sqmi (1,463 km2) is land and 10.46 sqmi (27.1 km2) (1.8%) is water.
