Washington County is a county in the state of Mississippi in the United States.

As of the census in 2020, there were 44,922 people living there.

Greenville is the county seat.

George Washington, who was the first president of the United States, is honoured by the name of the county.

It is near the border with Arkansas.

The whole of Washington County is part of the Greenville, MS Micropolitan Statistical Area. The Mississippi Delta is where it is.

The county has a total area of 761 square miles (1,970 km2), of which 725 square miles (1,880 km2) are land and 36 square miles (93 km2) (4.8%) are water, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
