Vermilion County is a county in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Illinois.
It is between the Indiana border and Champaign County.
It was the 45th of Illinois’s 102 counties when it was made in 1826.
According to the 2010 United States Census, there were 81,625 people living there, which was 2.7% less than in 2000.
It has 21 cities and towns, but Danville is the county center and biggest city.

Vermilion County is in the eastern part of Illinois. Its northern border is about 153 km (95 miles) south of Chicago.
According to the 2010 census, the county has a total area of 901.28 square miles (2,334.3 km2), of which 898.37 square miles (2,326.8 km2) (or 99.68%) are land and 2.91 square miles (7.5 km2) (or 0.32%) are water.
