Tulare County, is a county in the state of California, in the United States of America. The population was 473,117 at the time of the census in the year 2020.
Visalia is the principal city of the county. Tulare Lake, which was formerly the largest freshwater lake west of the Great Lakes, is where the county got its name.
The land was drained for agricultural development, and it is currently located in Kings County, which was formed in 1893 by taking the western portion of the much larger county that was originally known as Tulare.
The Visalia-Porterville, California Metropolitan Statistical Area is located entirely inside Tulare County.
The county may be found to the south of Fresno and stretches all the way from the San Joaquin Valley to the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
