Skamania County (/skmeni/ sk-MAY-nee-) is a county in the state of Washington in the United States.
As of the census in 2020, there were 12,036 people living there.
Stevenson is the county seat and the biggest city with its own government, but the Carson River Valley CDP has more people.
The Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro, OR-WA Metropolitan Statistical Area is made up of Skamania County.
The US Census Bureau says that the county has a total area of 1,684 square miles (4,360 km2), of which 1,656 square miles (4,290 km2) are land and 28 square miles (73 km2) (1.7%) are water. 90% of Skamania is covered in trees, and 80% of those trees are in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
