It is usually written as RS. Russell is the county seat and biggest city.

As of the census in 2020, there were 6,691 people living there.

Avra Russell’s name was used to name the county. Bob Dole, who ran for president in 1996 as the Republican Party’s candidate, lived in the city of Russell for many years.
