Nevada County is a county in the U.S. state of Arkansas. It is in the southwestern part of the state.
As of the 2020 census, there were 8,310 people living there, which was less than half of its peak number in 1920.
Prescott is the county seat. [2] Nevada County is Arkansas’s 63rd county. It was made from parts of Hempstead, Ouachita, and Columbia counties on March 20, 1871, during the time of Reconstruction.
It was named after the state of Nevada because people thought their shapes were similar.
