As of the 2020 Census, there were 14,194 people living in the county.

Preston is the county seat and biggest city.

Franklin D. Richards was an Apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The county was made in 1913 and named after him. It is the only Franklin County in the US that is not named after Benjamin Franklin.

The Logan, UT-ID Metropolitan Statistical Area includes Franklin County.

The county has a total area of 668 square miles (1,730 km2), of which 664 square miles (1,720 km2) are land and 4.7 square miles (12 km2) (0.7%) are water, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
