Coconino County is a county located in the middle of the north-central region of Arizona in the United States.
At the time of the census in 2020, there were 145,101 people living there. Flagstaff is the principal city of the county.
The moniker “Cohonino,” which was also used to refer to the Havasupai people, is where the county got its name.
The only county in the contiguous United States that is larger in terms of land area is San Bernardino County in California, and this one is right behind it.
It covers 18,661 square miles (48,300 square kilometers), which accounts for 16.4% of Arizona’s total land area, and it is greater than each of the nine states in the United States that have the smallest total land area.
