Cass County is a county in the state of Texas in the United States.

As of the census in 2020, there were 28,454 people living there.

Linden is the county seat.

The county was named after U.S. Senator Lewis Cass (D-Michigan), who pushed for the U.S. to take over Texas in the middle of the 19th century.

In 1846, parts of Bowie County were taken to make Cass County.

It was named after Lewis Cass, who was a U.S. Senator from Michigan and supported adding Texas to the U.S.

The U.S. Census Bureau says that the county is 960 square miles (2,500 km2) in size, with 937 square miles (2,430 km2) of land and 23 square miles (60 km2) of water, or 2.4%.

Cass County, Texas is one of only three counties in Texas that borders two other states. The other two are Bowie County and Dallam County.

Cass County is near the point where Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana meet.
