Butte County is a county in the U.S. state of Idaho. It is a rural county.

As of the 2020 census, there were 2,574 people living there.

This made it the third-least populated county in Idaho. Arco is the county seat and biggest city.

In 1917, parts of Bingham, Blaine, and Jefferson counties were put together to make the new county.

In 1937, Custer County gave the county land in the Clyde area. This gave the county its current borders.

The county has a total area of 2,234 square miles (5,790 km2), of which 2,232 square miles (5,780 km2) are land and 2.0 square miles (5.2 km2) (0.1%) are water, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
