Boone County is a county in the northern part of the U.S. state of Kentucky.
It is on the Ohio River. As of the 2020 census, there were 135,968 people living there.
This made it the fourth most popular county in Kentucky. Burlington is the county town.
The US Census Bureau says that the county is 256 square miles (660 km2) in size, with 246 square miles (640 km2) of land and 10 square miles (26 km2) of water (3.9%).
The fact that it was near the Ohio River was important to its early growth, since the river was the main way to get around.
