The name Blanco means “white” in Spanish.
It is in the middle of Texas, and Johnson City is the county seat.

Blanco County is in central Texas, west of Austin and north of San Antonio.
It is in the Hill Country. The Blanco and the Pedernales are two important rivers that flow through the county.
