Shetland is a group of islands in Scotland that used to be called Zetland and is now known as the Shetland Islands.

It is between the Orkney Islands, the Faroe Islands, and Norway. This is the most northern part of the United Kingdom.

To the northeast of the islands are Orkney, which is 80 km (50 mi) away. To the west of the islands are Norway, which is 220 km (140 mi) away.

To the west, they are part of the line between the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea.

They cover an area of 1,466 km2 (566 sq mi), and there were 22,920 people living there in 2019.
