    Geography<\/h2>\n

    Jomoro covers the coastal strip between the Ankobra estuary and the Ivorian frontier, and its western boundary is the international border with C\u00f4te d’Ivoire. The border post at Elubo carries the main road traffic between Ghana and Abidjan. Behind the beaches lie the Amansuri wetlands and Lake Tadane, where the stilt village of Nzulezo stands offshore from Beyin, and the northern edge of the municipality runs into the Ankasa forest. It shares boundaries with Ellembelle<\/a> to the east and lies west of Nzema East<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    Economy and Local Life<\/h2>\n

    Coconut, oil palm, rubber and food crops dominate farming, and the coastal towns from Beyin eastward live on canoe fishing. Elubo works as a frontier trading town, with customs traffic, fuel and produce moving both ways across the border. Half Assini holds the main market and the municipal offices. Nzema is the everyday language across the district.<\/p>\n

    Half Assini and Elubo hold the weekly markets that set prices for the villages behind them, and traders carry palm oil, cassava, coconut and smoked fish between them. Rubber smallholdings have spread inland over the past two decades and are tapped daily for latex. Ankasa, on the northern boundary, brings a small stream of visitors to the forest, and Nzulezo at Beyin is the best known attraction in the municipality.<\/p>\n

    Getting There<\/h2>\n

    Half Assini sits at the end of the coastal road that runs west from Esiama and Aiyinasi. Most visitors come from Takoradi, about 130 km east, along the highway towards Elubo and then south-west. Trotros and shared taxis serve Elubo, Beyin and Half Assini daily.<\/p>\n
