    Geography<\/h2>\n

    The municipality holds roughly 40 km of shoreline, including Cape Three Points, the southernmost land in Ghana. Rocky headlands separate the bays at Busua, Butre and Dixcove, where Fort Metal Cross still stands above the harbour. Inland the ground rises into oil palm and rubber country. Ahanta West lies between Sekondi-Takoradi<\/a> to the east and Nzema East<\/a> to the west, with Tarkwa Nsuaem<\/a> inland to the north.<\/p>\n

    Economy and Local Life<\/h2>\n

    Canoe fishing works out of Dixcove, Busua, Akwidaa and the smaller landing beaches, and smoked fish moves inland from them. Oil palm, rubber, coconut and cassava are the main farm crops. The Jubilee oilfield lies offshore from Cape Three Points, and shore-based service work draws labour towards Takoradi. Beach tourism at Busua and Dixcove supports guesthouses and boat crews.<\/p>\n

    The fishing calendar sets the rhythm of the coastal towns, with the main season between July and September and canoe crews sharing the catch by agreed shares. Women dominate the smoking and marketing side. Inland, rubber tapping and palm oil pressing give steady work. Agona Nkwanta’s market and lorry park serve both the beach villages and the farming settlements behind them.<\/p>\n

    Getting There<\/h2>\n

    Agona Nkwanta sits on the main coastal highway about 25 km west of Takoradi, at the junction where the road to Tarkwa turns inland. Trotros run constantly from Takoradi, and taxis serve Dixcove and Busua from Agona Nkwanta.<\/p>\n
