Towns and Villages in South Eastern Zone
The South Eastern Zone (Tigrinya: ዞባ ደቡባዊ ምብራቕ) is located in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia.
The South Eastern Zone is surrounded by the Southern Zone to the south, the Amhara Region to the southeast, the Central Zone to the northeast, the Eastern Zone to the north, and the Afar Region to the east.
It also borders the enclaved Mekelle Special Zone. The South Eastern Zone was divided from the Southern Zone.
Because the zone was founded after the 2007 census, accurate data on its population is difficult to get.
According to the CSA’s 2007 census, the population is anticipated to be 392,142, with 21,125 (5.39%) living in urban areas.
