Towns and Villages in Eastern Zone

The Eastern Zone is located in Ethiopia’s Tigray Region. It is surrounded by the Afar Region to the east, the South Eastern Zone to the south, the Central Zone to the west, and Eritrea to the north.

Its highest point is Mount Asimba (3,250 meters). The Eastern Zone’s towns and cities include Adigrat, Atsbi, Hawzen, and Wukro.

According to the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia’s (CSA) 2007 Census, this Zone has a total population of 755,343, with 359,638 men and 395,705 women; 146,064 people, or 19.34%, live in cities.
