Towns and Villages in Central Zone
The Central Zone (Tigrinya: ዞባ ማእከላይ, romanized: Zobā Māʼékalāy) is a zone in Tigray Region, Ethiopia.
The Central Zone includes towns and cities such as Axum and Adwa, as well as the historically notable village of Yeha and the town of Tembien Abiyi Adi.
The Central Zone is bordered on the east by the Eastern Zone, south by the South Eastern Zone, west by the North Western Zone, and north by Eritrea.
According to the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia’s (CSA) 2007 Census, this Zone has a total population of 1,245,824, with 613,797 men and 632,027 women; 176,453 people, or 14.16%, live in cities.
