Towns and Villages in Ari Zone

Ari is an administrative zone in the South Ethiopia Regional State.

Until August 2023, Ari was part of the South Omo Zone.

It is named for the Aari people, whose homeland is within the zone.

Ari is bordered to the south by the South Omo Zone, northeast by the Gofa Zone, and north by the Basketo Zone. Jinka serves as Ari Zone’s administrative centre.

Ari Zone consists of four woredas and two city governments:

  1. Baka Dawla Ari
  2. Debub Ari
  3. Gelila*
  4. Jinka*
  5. Semen Ari
  6. Woba Ari

* City administrations are classified as Woreda for all administrative purposes.
