West Welega Zone (Oromo: Wallagga Lixaa) is located in the western region of Ethiopia’s Oromia Region.

According to the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia’s (CSA) 2007 Census, this Zone has a total population of 1,350,415 people, with 671,538 men and 678,877 women; West Welega has a population density of 124.66 people per square kilometer and covers 10,833.19 square kilometers.
