Jimma is a zone in Ethiopia’s Oromia Region. Jimma is named after the old Kingdom of Jimma, which was merged with the former province of Kaffa in 1932.
According to the CSA’s 2007 Census, this Zone has a total population of 3,486,155, a 26.76% increase over the 1994 census, with 1,750,527 males and 1,735,628 women; Jimma has a population density of 159.69 people per square kilometer and covers 15,568.58 square kilometers.
