Towns and Villages in Fantí Rasu (Zone 4)

Fantí Rasu, commonly known as Administrative Zone 4, is a zone in Afar Region, Ethiopia.

This zone is bounded to the south and east by Awsi Rasu, southwest by the Amhara Region, northwest by the Tigray Region, and north by Kilbet Rasu.

Kaluwan (also known as Gulina) serves as the Zone’s administrative headquarters, while Dibina is its major town.

According to the 2007 Census conducted by the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia (CSA), this Zone has a total population of 246,822, with 140,741 males and 106,081 women.

While 9,441 people (3.83%) live in cities, another 118,691 (48.09%) are pastoralists. Fantí Rasu’s primary ethnic groupings were Afar (98.67%) and Amhara (1.09%), with the remaining ethnic groups accounting for only 0.24% of the population.
