Geography
Tambo County sits between the Tambo River in the west and the Snowy River in the east, across eastern Gippsland. Earlier maps had shown the area occupied by proposed counties named Abinger and Combermere, before those plans were dropped. Tambo County borders Benambra County to the west and north, Dargo County to the west, and Croajingolong County to the east.
