Normanby
It is one of 37 counties in Victoria that make up the cadastral divisions of Australia, which are used for land titles.
One of these is Normanby County.
The county is in Victoria’s Western District.
The Eumeralla River runs through the county in the east, the Glenelg River runs through Casterton and Hamilton in the north, and Bass Strait (Portland Bay) runs through the county in the south.
Hamilton, Portland, and Heywood are some of the bigger towns.
Even though the county wasn’t officially created until 1853, its borders were mentioned in the 1849 proclamation of Follett County and Dundas County.
