Hampden
The County of Hampden is one of Victoria’s 37 counties.
It is part of Australia’s cadastral divisions, which are used to keep track of land titles.
The county is in Victoria’s Western District. To the east is Lake Corangamite, and to the west is the Hopkins River.
About the roads that are now the Glenelg Highway and the Princes Highway ran through the north and south of the county.
Terang and Skipton are two bigger towns. It was named a county in 1849.
