Buckland

Buckland County is a rural community in Queensland’s Central Highlands Region.

It is about 100 kilometres west of Rockhampton and 300 kilometres north of Brisbane.

The county has a total area of 1,771 square kilometres and a population of 44 people according to the 2016 census.

Buckland County’s main industry is agriculture, with cattle grazing and cropping being the most common activities.

A number of mining operations, including the Buckland Coal Mine and the Blackwater Coal Mine, are also located in the county.

Buckland County is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, as it is home to several national parks and state forests.
