Northumberland
Northumberland County was one of New South Wales’ original Nineteen Counties and is now one of the state’s 141 Cadastral divisions.
It encompassed the Central Coast region and Lake Macquarie, as well as Newcastle (Greater Newcastle) in the Hunter region, to the north of Broken Bay.
It was bounded to the south by a section of the Hawkesbury River, to the south-west by the Macdonald River, and to the north by the Hunter River.
