Bligh
Bligh County was one of New South Wales’ original Nineteen Counties and is now one of the state’s 141 Cadastral divisions.
It is bounded on the south by the Cudgegong and Goulburn rivers, on the east by the Krui River, and on the north by the Burragundy River.
It encompasses the towns of Cassilis and Dunedoo.
The county was named after Admiral and Governor of New South Wales William Bligh (1805-1808).
Between 1856 and 1859, the Phillip, Brisbane, and Bligh electoral district was the area’s first electoral district.
