Auckland
Auckland County is one of New South Wales’ 141 cadastral divisions.
It is located in the extreme south-east of the state, with the Victorian border to the south and the Brogo River to the north.
Bega, Eden, and Merimbula are all part of it.
The county was named after George Eden, the First Earl of Auckland from 1784 to 1849.
It had an area of 1,536,000 acres (6,220 km2) in 1852 and was described as mountainous with fertile plains.
